HARLAN -- Richard and Marilyn Wittrup of Harlan celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on July 6 with an afternoon reception at the Museum of Danish America in Elk Horn. In the evening a dinner for family and guests was held at the Therkildsen Activity Center in Harlan.

    HARLAN -- Alex Michelle Hansen and Drake Anthony Nielsen both of Bellevue, NE exchanged marriage vows on June 15, 2019 at the Harlan Golf and Country Club. The private outdoor ceremony was performed by Jeff Garrison, Irwin.    Parents of the bride are Joey and Jennifer Hansen, Harlan. Parents of the groom are Ken and Andrea Nielsen, Harlan; and Amy Loseke, Omaha.

    ADAIR -- Dave and Anna Schwarte of Irwin announce the engagement of their daughter, Bree of Defiance to Josh Steenhusen of Harlan. Josh is the son of Paul and Patty Steenhusen of Harlan.    The couple will exchange marriage vows on July 20 at the Schafer Barn on the Hill near Adair.

    WESTPHALIA -- Terry and LaVonne Schulte of Westphalia will celebarate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, July 28 beginning with an 11 a.m. Mass in their honor at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia. A reception and luncheon will follow at the parish center. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    PORTSMOUTH -- Max and Jerri Handbury of Persia will mark their 50th anniversary at an open house on Sunday, July 14 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Portsmouth.     HARLAN -- Darlene (Jensen) Heilesen of Harlan will celebrate her 90th birthday with family on July 12. Her family is planning a card shower in her honor.     RONAN, MT -- Hanah Hlavac and Nick Ammon both of Kansas City, MO exchanged marriage vows in an 11 a.m. double ring ceremony on February 23, 2019 at The Silver Knot in Ronan. The small mountain side wedding overlooked the Mission Mountains of Northwest Montana.    Parents of the bride are Kevin and Lori Hlavac, Harlan. Parents of the groom are Roses Ammon, Kansas City, MO; and Brad Ammon, Park City, UT.
