Chaplain TJ Carlson performed the 11:30 a.m. double ring ceremony.    Parents of the couple are Dan and Lorie Knudsen, Harlan; and Howard and Tara Lansman, Harlan. 

Arkfeld-Sellner will exchange June vows

PORTSMOUTH -- Bill and Brenda Arkfeld of Portsmouth announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer to Noah Sellner, Sleepy Eye, MN. He is the son of John and Vicki Sellner, Sleepy Eye.    The couple will exchange marriage vows on June 24 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth.

Graeve-Grafton plan wedding in Earling

    EARLING -- Kathy Graeve of Neola and Mel Graeve of Earling announce the engagement of their daughter Kathryn Elva to James W. “Don” Grafton, son of Jon and Kenne Grafton, Alexandria, LA.      The couple will marry May 19 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling.

Schaben-Amdor will exchange April vows

    PORTSMOUTH -- Randy and Ronda Schaben of Portsmouth announce the engagement of their daughter, Hannah Schaben to Tony Amdor both of Breda. Tony is the son of Jim and Deedee Amdor, Atlantic.    Hannah and Tony plan to exchange marriage vows on April 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth.

Brucks mark 50th wedding anniversary

    PORTSMOUTH -- Bill and Mase Bruck of Portsmouth will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 8. They plan to celebrate with a family vacation this summer.    Their family includes the late Michelle “Mitz” Zaiser, and her husband, Dave Zaiser, Logan; Todd Bruck and friend, Emily Mullen, Grimes; and B.J. and Tracy Bruck, Earling. Bill and Mase have seven grandchildren.

Ploens celebrate 40 years of marriage

    WALNUT -- Jack and Judy Ploen of Walnut celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday, March 26.    Jack and Judy have four children: James and Brooke Ploen, Jennifer Ploen, Jessica Ploen and Jared Ploen all of Walnut. The Ploens have two grandsons.

Birthday open house will honor Naomi Gross

Naomi Gross of Harlan will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house on Saturday, April 1 from 1-3:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Rosman Parish Center in Harlan.

    DUNLAP -- Marie Heller of Dunlap will celebrate her 100th birthday on March 15. A reception in her honor will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 2 p.m. at the Dunlap Nursing & Rehab Center in Dunlap. The event will be hosted by her many nieces and nephews. The bride’s brother-in-law, Alan Weber of Harper, performed the 3 p.m. ceremony.    Kate is the daughter of Bill and Kay Witthoft, Washington; and Gary Shindelar, Sullivan, IL. Ryan is the son of Dan and Charlene Lefeber, Portsmouth.

    DEFIANCE -- Allison Marie Kite of Hopkins, MN and Jonathan William Hackbart of Plymouth, MN were married on August 20, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance. Father Guthrie Dolan performed the 3:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.    Allison is the daughter of EAnn and Dan Christensen, Defiance; and Michael and Lorraine Kite, Milton, FL. Jonathan is the son of James and Karen Hackbart, Plymouth, MN.
