DENISON -- Bill and Sue Russell of Denison marked their 25th wedding anniversary on October 24. They celebrated at an afternoon open house on August 12 at the Yellowsmoke Shelterhouse near Denison.    Their family includes Megan and Ben Claypool, Ames; Katie Russell, Denison; Sarah Russell, Denison; Joe and Angie Russell, Boone; and Kama Russell, Tucson, AZ. The Russells have five grandchildren.

HARLAN -- Urban “Urbie” Henscheid will celebrate his 90th birthday on November 2. BRECKENRIDGE, CO -- Dusten Klindt and Benjamin Pitkin both of Loveland, CO exchanged marriage vows on August 20, 2017 in Breckenridge. The bride’s uncle, Dennis Messenger, performed the 10 a.m. outdoor ceremony in the Breckenridge Mountains.    Parents of the couple are Dean and Julie Klindt, Harlan; and Kevin and Ruth Pitkin, Harlan.

HARLAN -- Leona Kaufmann will celebrate her 100th birthday at an open house on Sunday, November 5 from 1-3 p.m. in the McKee Activity Room at Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan. PERSIA -- The family of Lowell Chapman is planning a card shower in honor of his 90th birthday on October 29. Cards will reach him if sent to 3572 296th St., Persia, IA  51563.Lowell and his wife Ruby, live on their Century Farm near Persia.         Their children include Cheryl (Chapman) and Garry Bergman, Kathy (Chapman) Benes (deceased), and Rick Chapman (deceased). The Chapmans have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

PORTSMOUTH -- Gerry and Betty Huebert of Portsmouth celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on October 7 at a Dunlap restaurant.    Their children are Dan Huebert and Rochelle Bradley, Persia; Mike Huebert, Persia; Dennis and Jeana Huebert, Denison; Debra and Dean Gessert, Harlan; Diane and Steve Mumm, Portsmouth; and Janice Christensen and Gary Stoltz, Earling. 

    DUNLAP -- Norman and Millie Nielsen of Dunlap will mark 65 years of marriage on November 1. They will celebrate with an open house on Sunday, October 29 from 2-4 p.m. at the Gold Slipper in Dunlap. Friends and family are invited.
Their children and spouses are Judy and Jude Schoenherr, Denison; Jan and Ivan Hansen, Harlan; and Joan and Lynn Heimerman, Harlan. The Nielsens have five grandchildren. 

    DES MOINES -- Christina Muell and LeMar Yeager both of Des Moines will exchange marriage vows on October 28 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Des Moines.    Parents of the couple are Deb and Dan Muell, Portsmouth, and the late Justina Holt, who was a Des Moines resident.

KIRKMAN -- Dena Baughman and Jon Kaufman both of Dubuque were married on June 17, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Kirkman. The 3:30 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor Laurie Riley.    Parents of the couple are Jim and Lori Baughman, Kirkman; and Mark and Sherry Kaufman, Harlan.     

HARLAN -- Kenny and Carolyn Hursey of Harlan marked their 50th wedding anniversary on October 7.    The couple has one daughter and son-in-law, Leann and David Larson, West Des Moines. The Hurseys have two grandchildren.
