    PORTSMOUTH -- Gary and Jackie Schaben of Portsmouth announce the engagement of their daughter, Brooke, to Quinn Wilson both of Harlan. Quinn is the son of Daniel and Kaleigh Wilson, Oakland.    Brooke and Quinn will exchange marriage vows on September 8 at St. Mary’s Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Portsmouth. 

    WESTPHALIA -- Tori Webber and Brian Schechinger both of Harlan were married at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia on October 28, 2017. Father David Smith performed the 3 p.m. double ring ceremony.    Parents of the couple are Kristy Campbell, Savannah, GA; Jim Webber, Colorado Springs, CO; and Ron and Konnie Schechinger, Harlan.     

    PORTSMOUTH -- The family of Joan Sondag is planning an open house in honor of her 90th birthday on Saturday, June 30 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Portsmouth.

    AVOCA -- Wayne and Phyllis Krohn of Avoca marked their 60th wedding anniversary on May 29. The couple has two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Kim Krohn, Avoca; and Dean and Joy Krohn also of Avoca.    The Krohns have six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. They are retired farmers having farmed in Shelby and East Pottawattamie Counties before retiring and moving to Avoca.

    HARLAN -- Jeff and Cyndi Petersen of Harlan will celebrate 30 years of marriage on June 11. Their family includes son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Audrey Petersen, Iowa City; and daughter and her fiance, Chelsy Petersen and Jordan Newcomb, Harlan.

    ALEXANDRIA, MN -- Ruben and Evelyn Jensen of Alexandria will observe their 68th wedding anniversary on June 11.     HARLAN -- Todd and Angie Madsen of Harlan announce the engagement of their daughter, Hannah to Eric Christoffersen both of Audubon. Eric is the son of Neal and Janet Christoffersen, Audubon.    The couple will exchange marriage vows on June 16 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan.

    HARLAN -- Duane and Linda Musich of Harlan will mark 50 years of marriage on June 22. Their three daughters invite family and friends to a card shower and open house on Saturday, June 23 at 1 p.m. at Faith Family Church, 1610 Chatburn Ave., in Harlan.    They will also celebrate their golden wedding anniversary later this summer when their children and grandchildren will all be together.

    EARLING -- Francis Koesters of Earling will mark his 90th birthday on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17. He and his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann, reside at 2043 Road M-16, Earling, IA 51530.

    WOODBINE -- Bob Sullivan of Woodbine marked his 95th birthday on May 16. Bob shared a birthday with his wife, the late Theresa Sullivan.    The Sullivan family invites friends and relatives to an open house in Bob’s honor and Theresa’s memory on Saturday, June 16 beginning at 4 p.m. with Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woodbine followed by an open house at Sacred Heart Parish.
